Why gases spread out and are easily compressed

Explanation

Solid particles are closely packed in fixed positions and vibrate. Liquid particles remain close but can move past one another; gas particles are widely separated and move randomly. Arrangement, movement and forces between particles explain shape, flow and compressibility without changing the particles themselves. Example: Explain why gases compress easily. There are large gaps between particles. Use the stated conditions to connect the scientific model with the observation. Justify your answer.
