Explanation

A system is the object or group of objects being studied. Energy can be stored chemically, kinetically, thermally, elastically, gravitationally, magnetically, electrostatically or in nuclear stores. Identify the system boundary before comparing the stores at the start and end of a change. Example: Identify a suitable system for studying a falling ball. Choose the ball and Earth together because their gravitational interaction provides the initial store. Use clear labels. Consider the conditions.
